Does a laptop screen flash from a failing hard drive?

my hard drive is deff failing, but i wanted to know if the screen flashing with like horizontal black lines is a symptom of that? or something else is the problem?Does a laptop screen flash from a failing hard drive?
When a hard drive is indicating possible failure, you usually will hear a ';beep code';. The series of beeps and the space between the beeps indicates by code what the problem area is. If you're getting a monitor flicker, this may indicate a problem with your graphics card. Since in a laptop, your graphics card and audio card are integrated into the motherboard, the graphic and audio cards can't be replaced. The only way possible to repair the graphic card or audio card is to replace the whole motherboard and this wouldn't be practical. The first thing you should do no matter what is wrong, would be to backup all your personal files that are on the hard drive. Do this ASAP! If this laptop is 4 or 5 years old, you may want consider a new one. If you have a computer repair shop close by, have them look at it to verify the problem and the cost to repair. This will lead you to the decision of either repairing or replacing your laptop. Wish there was better news, but laptops are very restricted as to what can be repaired. Hopefully it could be something else besides the hard drive or graphics card that is easier and cheaper to repair! Good luck!Does a laptop screen flash from a failing hard drive?
No, lines like that usualu mean you have a bad LCD or a bad graphics card. Is the laptop under warranty? If it is I would send it in for servicing.
