How many songs can a 2gb flash drive hold? I put 500 on it but only like 75 showed up... Is that it?

Surely not..How many songs can a 2gb flash drive hold? I put 500 on it but only like 75 showed up... Is that it?
at an average 4mb per song you should be able to put around 450-500 songs on it. not sure why you are seeing that..

did the transfer complete?

did you delete some of the files by mistake?

did you look at all the folders in the flash drive? How many songs can a 2gb flash drive hold? I put 500 on it but only like 75 showed up... Is that it?
i had the same problem..i had all of my old files(that i deleted) but there were still in a trash folder that was hidden..go to control panel, then folder options, then view and then click show hidden files and folders. then delete all of those hidden folders opening up space Report Abuse

You are correct.... that is not supposed to happen.

First off, if a flash drive (or any drive for that matter) gets full, the computer will give you an error message telling you so... it's not just going to pretend like everything is fine and then surprise you with missing files.

Second, a 2GB flash drive should be able to hold at LEAST 500 songs.

To fix this problem, try formatting the flash drive (go to ';my computer';, right-click the icon for the flash drive, and select ';format';). If that doesn't work then you may have a defective drive.... take it back to the store and make them give you a new one.
It depends on the quality that you encode to and the file formats.

If you copied 500 songs and can only see 75 then there was either a problem with the transfer or the software you are using to play the songs doesn't recognise the format of the other 425 songs you loaded. This often happens with wmv or mp4 files.
That does seem a little low but it has to do with the size of the songs. 2 gb's is 2000 mb your average song is about 6-7mb but they can get allot bigger depending on sound quality and length of the song
