2004 Nissan Quest shuts down after panel lights flash?

My 2004 Quest was not responding to the gas. I looked at the panel and the brake and battery light were flashing together. Then the instrument panel turned off shortly followed by the engine shuting down. Tried to start, and it wouldn't , i needed a jump. Once it was jumped it was fine for about 2 minutes, and then it would repeat the above and shut down. Now that i have it home, i cant get this to repeat in order to get a fault code. Anyone had this problem before or any suggestions?2004 Nissan Quest shuts down after panel lights flash?
It's stalling out. The panel lights are just indicating that the key is turned but the van's not running.

Has your clock reset to 12:00? You may have a loose battery connection.

Really, anything else should set a fault code (Cam Pos Sensor, Crank Pos Sensor, spark or fuel issue).2004 Nissan Quest shuts down after panel lights flash?
I see this all the time. nissans have a strange series of events that happens when the alternator goes and you described it to a T. That description graces many repair orders crossing my tool box, the symptoms are kind of strange to people who havent experienced a nissan charging system failure before.

Even so...dont take my, or anyones, word for gold. check to see if the van is charging using a multimeter...you can get one a radioshack and hardware stores resonably priced. connect one lead to the positive post of the batt and the other to neg. There should be approx. 12.7-14.7 volt while running.
